| This will be a sweet and petite Block-of-the-Month project. One or two traditional 10" flower blocks will be offered each month. At the end of the guild year, you will be able to wrap up a bright baby quilt, a cozy feminine lap quilt, or a spring-fresh coverlet. There are no fabric restrictions, so use a pallette that pleases you. Each month participants will piece the assigned block(s) which they are encouraged to bring to the guild meeting so that fellow guild members may see the varied effects fabric choices have with the same pattern. Directions will be handed out at each meeting and posted here soon after. The month listed here is the meeting at which the block is due. September: Pieced Tulip www.quilterscache.com/P/PiecedTulipsBlock.html Add borders matching your background fabric to achieve a 10.5" square, and please show off your first "blooms" at our meeting. October: Grandma's Flower Garden Grandma's block directions (in PDF format) November: Magnolia Bud www.quilterscache.com/M/MagnoliaBudBlock.html Click on the picture of the block in the directions to access the paper piecing patterns. Also, add borders matching your background fabric to achieve a 10.5" square. December: Hope of Hartford www.quilterscache.com/H/HopeofHartfordBlock.html Choose fabric 1 for the flower's petals, fabric 2 for the leaves and flower center, and fabric 3 for the background. Consider a 4th fabric for the flower center (instead of fabric 2). January: Crown of Thorns (or Single Wedding Ring) Crown of Thorns block directions (in PDF format) April: Japanese Poppy www.quilterscache.com/J/JapanesePoppyBlock.html Honeybee www.piecebyumber.com/pastbom/beepatt.htm Black-eyed Susan The webpage this pattern came from is no longer available and the pattern pieces change sizes when scanned, so you should pick up a paper copy of the pattern at a meeting. May: Flower of Friendship www.quilterscache.com/F/FlowerofFriendshipBlock.html Note that there are three sets of templates to print, and you will need to add borders matching your background fabric to achieve a 10.5" square. June: Arkansas Meadow Rose Arkansas Rose directions and templates (in PDF format) ---------------------------------- Many of the Quilter's Cache directions are more than one page and you need to click on a link near the bottom of the page to view (and print) the next page. The materials list tends to be on the last page. ---------------------------------- Note: The Quilter's Cache "Terms and Condition of Use" permits our guild's use for BOM; for those who are interested, details can be seen here: www.quilterscache.com/TermsPage.html. |
