Quinobequin Quilters
Comfort Quilts Service Project
Quinobequin Quilters Guild is committed to offering comfort to those in need through our Comfort Quilt project.  Members contribute to various stages of the creation of small quilts which are donated to agencies serving individuals such has homeless, foster, hospitalized, or orphaned children.

Each year we work on comfort quilts during our regular February meeting, and we plan additional opportunities to work together on this important project.  Join us for our next Comfort Quilt gathering at our April 14th guild meeting, from 7 to 9 pm.  Quilts and kits in all stages will be available.  Plan to cut fabric, piece a top, pin or tie layers, machine quilt, add binding, or attach a label.

This summer we added colorful pillow cases to our offerings at the request of the hospice in Wayland.  Kits were sent home with members over the summer, and many beautiful finished pillow cases have been returned.  For those who would like to use their own materials, here is a link to a pattern:

Over the summer several quilts were delivered to a town in northern Maine for families who have lost their belonging in house fires.  This fall more quilts will be delivered to various locations, including children in foster care in the area, Wayside Hospice in Wayland, and to Dr. Hendrie to bring to the Sharing Foundation's Roteang Orphanage in Cambodia.
