Quinobequin Quilters
2006/2007 Program Schedule
The Guild meets at the Wellesley Community Center (directions available here). You are invited to arrive at 7:00 pm for socializing and perusing the library collection. Meetings being promptly at 7:30 pm.  Please note the following dates (all 3rd Tuesdays, except November and December) on your calendar:

September 19, 2006 - Our first meeting gives us a chance to socialize with new and old members and present the summer challenge quilts.  To help us get to know each other we'd like to do "Show and Tell with a Twist", so bring a quilt to show that is special and meaningful to you.  It may be one you made or one you bought or one that was a gift.  Also, Dr. Nancy Hendrie of the Sharing Foundation will give a brief presentation on her work with the orphanage in Cambodia where we have been sending some of our comfort quilts. (note: Dr Hendrie was unable to join us this month)

October 17, 2006 - Ann Lee, from "Friends Fabric Art" in Lowell, will present "Adding Sparkle and Unusual Embellishments to Quilts".  This is a trunk show of art quilts and fiber art embellished with such things as foils, textile paints, Angelina, Tyvek, mulberry bark, silk cocoons and rods.  Tips for usage will be discussed and demonstrated.  Ann will also have embellishment materials for sale.  Find out more at www.friendsfabricart.com.

November 14, 2006 - Paula Foresman will give a lecture and trunk show on "Making the Most of Mistakes." (note this is the 2nd Tuesday this month)

December 12, 2005 - The holiday program is a social event with lots of Show and Tell, holiday refreshments, grab-bag quilt challenge exchange (see Dec newsletter for details), and quilting games. (note this is the 2nd Tuesday this month)

January 16, 2007 - New England Quilt Museum benefit auction.  The annual auction is our chance clear your home of excess fabric, UFO's, patterns, magazines and anyting remotely resembling something that a quilter would want.  You get to rid yourself of clutter which becomes another guild member's treasure while helping out a good cause and having fun.

February 20, 2007 - Comfort Quilts are the focus of this meeting.  Members enjoy talking with others while working on beautiful quilts for children in foster care.

March 20, 2007 - Rosemary Hoffenberg, quilter and hand-dyer, will present "Journey is Process" in slides and demonstrations of materials.  She will also sell her hand-dyed fabric at the meeting.  Find out more at www.rosemaryhoffenberg.com.

April 17, 2007 - Bo Breda, fiber artist and Co-Director, Fashion Design Program at Mt. Ida College, will present.  Learn more about her at www.bobreda.biz.

May 15, 2007 - Pat Harrison, of Ocean Waves Quilting Company in Exeter, RI, will speak on "Longarm Quilting."  She will cover what a longarm quilter does, how to get the best result from a longarm quilter, and the types of quilting that can be done on a longarm machine.  See some of her work at community.webshots.com/user/owqc1.
