2010/2011 Program Schedule
September 14, 2010 - The new quilting season kicks off with our Fall Social. Catch up with old and new friends. Join in Show and Tell and showcase all those projects you've been working on since the quilt show. View/vote/cheer on members as they present their Summer Challenge quilts.
October 12, 2010 - Maureen Blanchard of Cobblestone Quilts will present a lecture and trunk show on Traditional Applique "Plus" Quilts. She will discuss different techniques and explain all the ways applique can be used to enhance quilts.
November 9, 2010 - Judith Larzelere will discuss how she uses color interaction to create movement and mood in her abstract art quilts. She will explain her machine strip piecing technique of re-cutting pieced fabric and then machine quilting it in a "flip and sew" process. Jude will also be doing a machine strip piecing workshop during the day (see details on our home page). December 14, 2010 - Holiday Party filled with show and tell, socializing, holiday refreshments and a good old-fashioned Yankee Swap.
January 11, 2011 - New England Quilt Museum benefit auction. The annual auction is a great time to clean out those no-longer-needed treasures in your stash. Proceeds benefit NEQM and the guild.
February 8, 2011 - Comfort Quilts are the focus of this meeting. Feel good about quilting and yourself as you work with other guild members on quilts for those in need.
March 8, 2011 - Member Demos. This meeting will highlight what has become one of our most popular activities - members teaching members!
April 12, 2011 - Beatriz Grayson will give a lecture and demonstration on translating the principles of art and design to fabric collages and art quilts. Visit her website at www.beatrizgrayson.com.
