2021 - 2022 Programs

 

The Guild usually meets at the Congregational Church of Needham (directions available here), though we will start this year meeting online via Zoom (link emailed to members). You are invited to sign on at 7:00 pm for socializing. Meetings begin promptly at 7:30 pm. Please note the following dates (all 2nd Tuesdays except October which is a 2nd Wednesday) on your calendar:

 

September 14, 2021 – Welcome Back Social, Show & Share via Zoom

Meet new members, reconnect with old friends, check out the Summer Challenge entries and see what wonderful creations people have made this summer! 

 

October 13, 2021 (2nd Wednesday!)  Meg Cox presents "Behind the scenes at the greatest quilt museum in the world" via Zoom

Meg is a quilter, author, journalist, and board member of the International Quilt Museum. She will will provide an in depth, inside look at the Museum.

November 9, 2021 – Judi Kirk presents "25 years of tips, tricks and techniques" via Zoom

Judi is an award winning quilter and certified quilt judge from Canterbury, England. She will present ideas and techniques she has found especially useful over the years as well as easy fixes to issues seen from the perspective of a quilt judge.

December 14, 2021 – Holiday Social

Join us for some fun and new holiday activities!

January 11, 2022 – Suzi Parron presents on Barn Quilts via Zoom

Suzi is the author of Barn Quilts and the American Barn Quilt Trail Movement and Following the Barn Quilt Trail. She will share the history of the barn quilt movement along with the stories of the people and the quilts found along the barn quilt trails all across the United States.

 

February 8, 2022 – Comfort Quilts

Check back to see if we will meet in person or be Zooming into our annual Comfort Quilt marathon when we all work together to assemble quilts for children and families in need.

March 8, 2022 – Member Demos

QQ members demonstrate and teach some of their favorite techniques. Come learn from our talented community!

March 25 & 26, 2022 – Quinobequin Quilters Spring Quilt Show

Open 10am to 5pm on Friday & Saturday at the Needham Masonic Hall 1101 Highland Ave, Needham, MA. Admission $10.

April 12, 2022 – Rose Parr presents "Sew Smart: The Ergonomics of Healthy Quilting" via Zoom

Rose is a Canadian quilter, personal trainer, and author of Sew Healthy and Happy: Smart Ergonomics, Stretches and More for Makers. She will share ergonomic strategies to stay healthy, happy, and pain-free while cutting, pressing, and sewing.

May 10, 2022 – End of Year Ice Cream Social

Celebrate the end of another quilt year together with a sweet treat!
