2023 - 2024 Programs
The Guild meets at the Congregational Church of Needham, 1154 Great Plain Ave, (directions available here), except for January and February of 2024 when we will meet online via Zoom (link emailed to members). You are invited to arrive at 7:00 pm for socializing. Meetings begin promptly at 7:30 pm.

Meet new members, reconnect with old friends, check out the Summer Challenge entries and see what wonderful creations people have made this summer!
October 10, 2023 – Comfort Quilts
Join our annual Comfort Quilt marathon when we all work together to assemble quilts for children and families in need. At the end of the evening bring home supplies to continue working on comfort quilts through the winter.
November 14, 2023 – Ann Feitelson
Ann will share the evolution of her quilting and her dynamic use of color and shape. Ann’s quilts are big abstract compositions, a coalescence of myriad shapes and colors which create big dynamic forces and counterforces.

January 9, 2024 – Veruschka Zarate presents "Finding Pride & Joy in Quilting, My Journey in Quilting" via Zoom
Veruschka, of Pride & Joy Quilting, will be sharing her quilting journey from traditional piecing into the world of Foundation Paper Piecing and designing fresh and modern pieces for quilters to make, like her large-scale foundation pieces. She will share elements within her creative process and many of the tips, tricks and techniques she has learned along the way.

February 10, 2024 - Saturday workshop with Julia Graves via Zoom
Our February speaker will be teaching her Amazing Abstracts class. Open to up to 20 members to attend from the comfort of your own quilting room! Fees to be announced.
February 13, 2024 – Julia Graves presents "Color Exploration" via Zoom
Julia will discuss how to select beautiful color combinations for your quilts and provide tips on how to fix color combinations that just don’t seem to be working. Includes a slide show and trunk show illustrating classic color combinations and fascinating color illusions. Workshop with Julia offered on the previous Saturday.
March 12, 2024 – Laura Petrovich Cheney creates “quilts” from recovered wood
Laura's novel constructions bring together the traditional crafts of wood sculpture and quilt making to show the potential of rebuilding and hope using repurposed wood collected after natural disasters. She assembles the pieces into quilt-inspired sculptures, displaying the very personal impact of natural disasters and the potential for renewal.
March 22 & 23, 2024 – Quinobequin Quilters Quilt Show
Open 10am to 5pm on Friday & Saturday at the Needham Masonic Hall 1101 Highland Ave, Needham, MA. Admission $10.
Viewers' choice awards from our Spring Quilt Show are revealed, and members demo a variety of techniques.
Betsy will share her techniques for making a photorealistic thread painting: selecting the right photo, printing it on fabric, seeing all the colors in the piece, selecting threads, different stitches, blending colors smoothly, representing texture, and paying attention to detail. Includes a trunk show and slides.
