2022 - 2023 Programs

 

The Guild meets at the Congregational Church of Needham (directions available here), except for January, February, and March of 2023 when we will meet online via Zoom (link emailed to members). You are invited to arrive at 7:00 pm for socializing. Meetings begin promptly at 7:30 pm. Please note the following dates (all 2nd Tuesdays except December and February which is are 1st Tuesdays) on your calendar:

 

September 13, 2022 – Welcome Back Social, Show & Share

Meet new members, reconnect with old friends, check out the Summer Challenge entries and see what wonderful creations people have made this summer! 

 

October 11, 2022 – Kathy Graves explores modern quilting concepts.

Kathy, a lifelong quilter and president of the Rhode Island Modern Quilting Guild, will talk about color, negative space, minimalism, alternative grid, asymmetry, and more.

October 21 & 22, 2022 – Quinobequin Quilters Quilt Show (postponed from the Spring)

Open 10am to 5pm on Friday & Saturday at the Needham Masonic Hall 1101 Highland Ave, Needham, MA. Admission $10.

November 8, 2022 – Comfort Quilts

Join our annual Comfort Quilt marathon when we all work together to assemble quilts for children and families in need.

 

November 18-21, 2022 – Cape Cod Retreat

December 6, 2022 (first Tuesday!) – Holiday Social

Join us for some fun and new holiday activities!

January 10, 2023 – Timna Tarr presents a trunk show of her quilting journey

Timna is an award winning quilter out of western Massachusetts. By Zoom

February 7, 2023 (first Tuesday!) – Pam Weeks presents Soft Protests, the history of storytelling and raising social awareness in textiles and quilts

Stories were quilted into bed coverings as early as 1400, and protest quilts go back to 1830.  Pam is the Binney Family Curator of the New England Quilt Museum. By Zoom

March 14, 2023 – Speaker had to cancel due to storm. Zoom meeting is still on for other business Kathie Beltz presents Easy Color for Quilters, a trunk show and lecture

Kathie is an award winning quilter, instructor, judge, and designer.  By Zoom

April 11, 2023 – Benefit Auction

Join us for our auction to benefit the guild and the New England Quilt Museum.

May 9, 2023 – End of Year Ice Cream Social

Celebrate the end of another quilt year together with a sweet treat!
